Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

After Friday evening and Saturdays morning disaster. Today's visit to Black Coomb summit from Whicham Church was delightful :)

DT, I love running. And I love the hills. I just can't combine the two. So in future the hills are for enjoying not racing against the clock.

Living near Holland can't help racing in the fells ;-) Take some time out and re-focus. There's are loads of ace events you could do if you can't do the L100

Exactly. Exactly right. And it was a comment made by Andy Cole. I'm never going to have the opportunity to put in 10,000 feet of ascent a week which is entry level. Just look at Charlie Sharp!

I don't think you need to do 10,000 feet climb per week to do L100, but 30 to 50 miles mixed pace (including plenty of strong walking)and say 4,000 feet climb would help. If you averaged out what you do and what we do you'd be bang on I reckon ;-)

7am, clear, blue skies, warm even then, with a slight breeze: paths & trails up to the Coastguards' at Burbo Bank, and down firm damp sand with breakfasting sea birds for company before switching to the prom & coastal park, over the footbridge and into the blessed shade of Victoria Park.
5.2 miles.

mostly a very steady pace, round the fields round the village, the dog was with me for the first 2 miles, then took her back and I carried on. Needed to be in sight of the village as the little ones (12 & 13) were at the house and I would have been able to see the plume of smoke rising. responsible parenting :-)
