Looks good Spen. Keep us up to date with how it goes. Do you have your next ultra lined up?
I'm very pleased with my training to date. My previous 4 weeks were all 80+ mpw, and my beats-per-mile is still coming down although the gains are a bit more closely spaced now. This week I've cut back the distance on my runs by 20%, and I'll just be doing another 75% instead of a sub LT tomorrow, so I can race hard on Sunday.
My plan is to pick the miles up again after the race and I'm going to try and push them up to around the 90 mpw mark for a while. Just an extra mile onto a run here or there should do it without too much hassle. I'm hoping that'll keep pushing my improvements, as I'm hoping to hold at 80-81% for my sub LTs as long as possible after seeing Boab's success with that. I think previously I may have pushed on to higher sub LT HRs a bit too early.

I am seeing improvement also, but its much more gradual than the progress davie is seeing.
Glasgow Half on SUnday, will see how it goes and then back to the plan which has progressed to 67 mpw and each week slight beats per mile and pace for effort improvements.

Well done on the improvements.
The 2 hour 75% will be lengthened in time to do 25 miles. Back to back with the off road one. Tough going but then so is ultras.
I am doing one called frostbite 30 in December but next major one is Hardmoors 55 in March. Im determined to do one properly this time around. Ive done 7 ultras now and never really trained for one properly.

Spen, I do a Sunday LR which is 2hrs plus at 75%....its at least 15 and has been as much as 19, usually around 17 miles in 2:30 depending on conditions and the route I choose
Ive found the more I do this training, the easier the running becomes and back to back days wouldnt be an issue if I chose to do them

The off road ones are more of a run hike. In the peak district as not too far from there. Its a time on feet exercise and getting used to the long slogs up the hills.
