I usually go out about 1pm so eat breakfast around 9-10 - usually scrambled eggs on toast with a bowl of cereal.

I dont eat or drink on the run and obviously miss lunch when out so am starving when done and sit down to a HUGE dinner :)

I'd agree with Puds on this, the night before is possibly more important and you can easily knock out a long run on the basis of that plus some drink/nibbles on the go and a decent meal when you get back.

Eat and drink nothing, just get up and put running kit on and go. (agree with Pudds about be adequately fuelled the day before)

For up to two hours don't take anything with me.

For over two hours take some form of carbs and water.

Boiled eggs and marmite on toast/bagel. Carbs, protein and Vit B12 to help turn it all into energy :)

Another vote here for the the good meal and lots of water the night before too

Porridge for me in the morning an hour and a half to two hours before. but Pudds is correct too. The night before is key, a nice carby meal with lots of water the day before is key and a good nights sleep also helps.

I take a bottle of lucozade sport with me for anything over 90 minutes, anything over two hours I will take a gel or two and water instead of the lucozade sport.
