Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

By the way, what a class act Jurgen Klinsmann is. Totally magnanimous in defeat.

Yes indeed. Which reminds me.

The Noo Noo is back to 3/1 on. What happened? I though he was off to Turkey? And Potter is back in at second favourite.

Juergen the German steady at 14/1.

I thought the Germans had more of the ball but struggled to find a way through the English defence. When they did, they didnt tale the chances.

England though when they got the ball looked more likely to (and did) score (twice !!)

Keeps the interest going for all of us until the weekend at least

It is always slim margins. 2-0 flatters England. We could have easily lost that.

But that is a cup competition, if luck shines on you..... ;-)

So if Sterling or Kane don't do what they're in the team to do they're failures but we were just lucky that Muller didn't do his thing because he usually would so fluked the win? Isn't that the measure of a great player or team: to perform when it matters?

Am I the only one that wonders how those other nations look at England as an opponent? Are they hoping we change our style and go more attacking too? Do they see Southgate as a bit tactically inept? A bit of a stiff promoted beyond his talent level?

I suspect we're looked on a bit more favourably than the doom-and-gloom merchants here would have it.

Ah, the beautiful game, remember that? Let's put down some jumpers and have a socially-distanced kickabout. Long shots only, and no hugging and kissing.
