Isn't that the measure of a great player or team: to perform when it matters? Am I the only one that wonders how those other nations look at England as an opponent? Are they hoping we change our style and go more attacking too? Do they see Southgate as a bit tactically inept? A bit of a stiff promoted beyond his talent level? I suspect we're looked on a bit more favourably than the doom-and-gloom merchants here would have it.
