I don't think there's a fair way to just play one colour and longer periods allows two games anyway.
A ladder only allows one game at a time to work (or possibly two against the same opp) and I guess would involve quite a bit of coding to work. Technically it could also lead to playing a small group as well depending on our rules.

The idea a couple of pages back to reset the divisions and make them bigger and last longer sounds good to me. Will go with the flow though, not too fussed.

I would support league reconstruction to increase the size of leagues.

I guess a bigger league format more games to play in a longer amount of time? It's already taking a month to complete games for these small divisions, so bigger ones will take ages (and I think i am a slow player!) Also if you are at the bottom of a bigger league, having to trawl thorugh game after game of being beaten, and waiting months before you can be competitive again may be quite soul destroying... personally I am for smaller leagues with a quicker turnaround.

But I get that a minimum 24 hr per move rule would mean the turnaround would never be that quick, I guess figuring out the league size would then be about defining what is the largest amount of games that is acceptable for a 24h per move. The problem will always be when we have new members joining with high ratings and how best to integrate them into the structure..

Is the scenario of someone being totally uncompetitive in a bigger leagues of 10-12 realistic? I'd argue that's more likely in smaller league as less spread of skill levels. Accept it would be for a longer period with bigger leagues though.
There's no requirement to start all games at once in any format so number of games (provided enough time is alloted) isn't what limits a league size. The reason for not having one massive league (which is what we started with) is it would have too many uncompetitive games (losing all games doesn't necessarily mean they are uncompetitive btw).

I'm not against it, but didn't Fetch put effort in last month to make it this format after we voted on it?

I reckon we give this format more than a month to establish. We've got cups and team games too
