Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

You want to know?

Basically the heater hose had to come off for some reason. As I tried getting it off this union thingy it crumbled like the cheap piece of 30 yo alloy it was. FFS.

Put a spanner on the thing, it was solid and I guessed to much graunching whittle reduce the remainder to crumbs as well, but inside the inlet manifold.

The only way to get a new union piece was to buy an entire second hand manifold with it in there. I thought I'd have to change the whole thing which annoyed me, many bolts and a carb linkage not to mention having to buy gaskets. Then I decided, bollocks that thing is coming out, after checking the one was loose, it was.

And to began a very tedious week. Before work I went to the car cleaned off the joint sprayed WD on tapped it with a hammer, cleaned it, sprayed it again. Came home from work, same thing. For a full 6 days.

Day 7, put the spanner back on, thing span out like it was brand new.

That is the most patient I've ever been with anything.
