Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Some fab-u-lous newting today :)
I want to see the hogs Mrs J!
We went for a hike. First time doing over 10 hilly miles in months. Also a new coffee stop - we had an ace coffee and toasted sourdough sandwich. Such a treat :)

Oh sounds fab B!

I had my rather disappointing Newt sourdough rye I baked the other day. Although the Newt starter looked really feisty, the boule collapsed into a dense flat thing. It wasn't bad actually, with avocado and poached eggs...

Mandy, I love newt things! It is in my nature to delight in little things in nature when they spring up every year and also things like trying newt things: sourdough rye, growing citrus, learning printmaking, weaving a basket... That sort of thing.
I am hoping to start making my own skep this weekend, if the weather collaborates, for my bees!

Oh and another newt:
I planted little yellow primula plugs on my entrance bank. It is surprising how much the teeny things stand out actually. These are the pale yellow wild ones.

Newt 1, I met with my friend for the first time this year. We walked 10k along the river and chatted non-stop; then went to Costa to get a coffee but they shut 2 minutes before we got there.
So, newt 2, I got a Costa coffee from the machine in Tesco, which I've never done before (I didn't even know they had a coffee machine in the shop).

Newt #3 was trying a spiced coffee and enjoying it - I'm not a fan of coffee normally, but this was really creamy so I'll have it again.

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
