Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Found the amazon link and have ordered so Fetch is a few Pence richer

I am concerned that it is snake oil and is not really different, the theorey relies on a shorter stride leaning forward with a higher cadence as far as I can see - sounds like hard work

It is a sensible book & it's more about core stability than just leaning forward & taking smaller steps. There are some excellent exercises & stretches well illustrated.

Thanks for this thread. I bought the book. Started with it, thought this makes sense but with busy life it's been sitting on my to do pile & have just referred to the post run exercises when I have time to do them.

I have hurt my calf again & have dipped into it & it says running on the balls of your feet with stiff ankles (guilty) is bad for calves & need to massage them regularly & learn to run on the midfoot. Sensible

While I'm laid up I'll read it properly.Cheers CT

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
Chi Running is a running technique which was developed by Danny Dreyer an ultra marathon runner who is a long time runner and student of T’ai Chi. The two main themes are energy efficiency and injury prevention. It combines the central movement principles of T’ai Chi with the sport of running to create a technique that shifts the workload toward your core muscles, allowing your leg muscles to work less. The results are increased efficiency and a significant reduction in injuries.
