I used to be a regular runner when I was younger with a marathon PB of 4:22, but then drifted away from the sport. I started running again in 2008 to help deal with stress, and found that I was able to push harder than I'd ever allowed myself to before.
In 2009 I managed (thanks in no small part to the folks on Fetch) to PB at 5k, 5 miles, 6 miles, 10k, HM and Marathon.
In August 2010 I did the Outlaw iron distance triathlon in a smidge under 15 hours and raised about £3000 for the Cancer of Unknown Primary Foundation - cupfoundjo.org - in memory of my mother who lost her life to cancer of unknown primary in January of that year. And then, foolishly I stopped running for a while. It's now 2013 and I'm staring again.
One day I'd like to get a sub-20 5k, a sub-40 10k, a sub-90 half and a sub-3:30 marathon - I wouldn't bet on achieving them though!
I live on the Isle of Man, and when I'm not running I spend my time either being a professional computer geek or making and listening to music, as well as dabbling with photography and occasionally going kayaking.
