Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

being instructed to enjoy something, particularly in writing. E.g. from a holiday description:

Tonight enjoy a bouillabaisse fish stew dinner.

At least it doesn't instruct me to enjoy Andouillette.

People who rock up and run at parkrun every week and never volunteer (Jovi runner stands back and dives for cover). It really does wind me up - why people feel they can expect an event just to magically happen every week without feeling a commitment to offer to help even just once is beyond be and utterly selfish.

( That's one reason I don't do Parkrun: I have no confidence in my ability to do anything properly without several times the amount of instruction most people need. )

People who don't rock up and run at parkrun but come over all sneery about any aspect of the phenomenon.

[I confess to having never volunteered, though I always intend to. My average attendance at parkrun is four times a year.]

Vrap - sorry - wasn't meant to offend anyone. I was referring to the people who run 52 times a yer and never volunteer!

I'm not offended, Jovi Runner, it's a criticism that I would fully accept, for I know I should be giving something back at my local parkrun.

ChrisB - there are tones of volunteer roles that really don't need any specific skill if thats what you are worried about. If you can stand on a corner and point then you'd be OK! :)
