Wacky acronyms thought up by management consultants for public sector bodies with no real consideration to how the result, er, pans out.
For example: PUKE - a new project dealing with people in the community with drinking problems (Project Understanding Knowledge and Education)....and now, MASH - Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub.

People who publicly discuss soaps and various assorted televisual fiction as if it were reality. In the past few days I've been party to vivid descriptions of a rape, a suicide and a policewoman masturbating in front of her partner. Not having a TV I was, in each case fairly convinced that those having the conversations had witnessed these things. It was, to put it mildly. a bit alarming.
FFS cant these people have a sign that lights up or something to let the rest of us in the real world know that they're saddos??

Oh yes. Thanks, FR, that reminds me. Ann Leslie, the wizened old Daily Mail hagbag (did Private Eye model Glenda Slagg on her?) was dragged out of her cupboard into a radio car last night to comment on the Rennard case. Afer coming on to the radio car BBC technician, her point was "the past is another country, women shouldn't whinge about men touching them where they shouldn't, it's a storm in a teacup.."...she then ended with an anecdote which is seared into my brain, about a elderly politician (she wouldn't give names, only to say he's now dead) who was sitting next to her on a radio programme, and she was asked for her view on housing development or some such subject, and all the while he had his hand on her crotch.
Please, BBC, leave her be. We know she's from a different era, we don't need the full technicolour picture, thanks.

mind you these interviewers are a bit slow - so the reponse should be *well you must have wanted his hand on your snatch, whereas the ladies within the Liberal movement did not!*
