I don't go to team meals anymore becauseof these things about cost. What youshould do is pay for your own food then the 'boss" gets the drinks in.
This seemed to stop happening about 2005.

Turns out due to my "grade" I have to put in for the drinks, but less than the big bosses. What grinds my gears in then having to sit opposite young things who tell me about their far flung holidays whilst I am wondering how to afford the petrol up to the in-laws after xmas!

I've been lucky this year. We had a football night out and because I organise the games and the night out I got mine paid for by the lads. We had a works Xmas party which was free, although I didn't drink loads so I could do parkrun. Then we had a departmental night out where we paid for our own drinks and split the cost of the meal equally, no gnashing of teeth, no arguments, no ill feeling. Happy Christmas!

Wot is it about 'unmissable' TV programs? Why are they unmissable?, I've missed loads and loads and loads, not watched any, life is still fine. I don't feel dejected or rejected, there is no sense of loss or having missed out, the house is still standing. What is meant to happen if I miss an unmissable program?
Or are they just absolutely and completely full to the gun whales of utter and total shit?
