Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Getting caught in the middle of policy discussions which are way above my pay grade, knowing that my opinion doesn't count but I will certainly get lumbered with the fall out.

Trying to go anywhere by train.

Journey to Leicester, door to door by car = 2:32 each way, cost approx £40 diesel.

Equivalent journey by train (on a Sunday) drive 30 mins to nearest big town to avoid bus replacement service, pay to park car. Train journey takes approx 3 and a half hours and costs £170 for 2 people and still have to get from station to destination. Return journey entails the same additional legs.

It’s neither practical or affordable.

A Network railcard is worth its weight in gold, and split ticket sites can save you loads too. I agree though that rail replacement sucks and that travelling as more than one is usually crazy expensive by train

And if you can get an advance to key it can be stacks cheaper, worth checking!

That Nationwide advert with the woman reciting a prose poem about pretending a shared house is hers and her partners’ alone.

I'll extend that to all Nationwide adverts over the last few years, with their painful spoken word poems (including the one lad who almost chanted his).

Certainly doesn't make me want to bank with them.

Am I the only person that thinks it’s very irresponsible for a high street bank to let lose, loads of black horses to go galloping across the country with no control? What if someone gets hurt? Or they cause an accident?
