Cancelled an insurance policy online. Company makes contact to confirm decision. Company makes contact again to confirm end date. Company makes contact yet again asking if cancellation is correct and that we should reinstate the Direct Debit if not...
Which bit of cancelling the policy do they not understand?

Charity caller knocks at door. Calls initially while I am trying to work, so they return while I am trying to get my daughter ready for bed. Typical! I politely decline on this occasion for valid reasons given.
Walked to a meeting last night to be stopped by a guy getting into his car. "Can you spare me a few minutes?" he says. I explain that I need to be at a meeting. "Why don't I give you a lift and we'll talk about it on the way?" I now challenge him to what he actually wants. It turns out that he is from the same charity and wants me to make a regular contribution, like they always do.
Three times in two days from the same charity. We runners are quite charity focused but chuggers really are something else!

My colleague sending me a message that his wife has a day off from jury service and is “getting in the festive mood by watching Christmas films”. Said colleague knows I’m not a big fan of Christmas even in December, but what sort of weirdo starts counting down, watching Christmas films etc in October (don’t answer that, I know loads of people do this, and I have some infuriating friends who start counting down in summer).
Maybe I’m the weirdo, but I don’t understand the mentality of counting down and wishing away time to the absolute worst part of the year (dark, cold, usually wet and miserable - with the prospect of even darker, colder, more miserable January around the corner)

[There's a TV channel on Freeview playing exclusively Xmas movies. Dreadful Xmas movies. My housemate has become addicted to reading the synopses of these films, and marvelling at either how they came up with the idea, or which film they've ripped off and Xmas-ified.

[JK - I think that sounds like the channel said colleague’s wife is watching. I daren’t read the synopses of said films, I can imagine how awful they’d be.
Lammo - thanks, glad it’s not just me!]

Being constantly bombarded with emails asking for my opinion on items I’ve purchased. My time is valuable, if you want me to spend it telling other customers to buy your products then you need to compensate me for said time. I might have different standards for small businesses offering excellent service or products, but in the case of Amazon emails then nope, fuck off

[It's also worth avoiding a channel named "Great Movies". It's lying. I flicked it on one lunchtime to avoid needles on the news, and the acting was so bad it was almost compelling - clearly the more talented actors were having a ball chewing up the scenery...]
