Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

American tv networks assume (sadly accurately) that the vast majority of the telly-watching public over there want something a bit easier to follow than the Scandie stuff I assume you're referring to. It's why 24, South Park, and House pretty much do well, and more thoughtful stuff with ideas and less predictable plotlines fare less well (apart from one notable exception, Breaking Bad).

Yeah, I can understand them making their own shows like that but the remaking everything annoys me - I mean whats hard to understand about The Office? Besides some of them end up missing the point of the show so much its not worth bothering to do it - i.e Life on Mars, the humour in it was totally lost.

As I said, I don't even know why it annoys e so much - totally illogical!!

It annoys me because it lessens the impact of the original, and you have millions remembering a half-baked imitation. Beyond that, well, it's all history innit, and we know what happens to that!

Not my gears being ground today, but those of my 10 year old son. It would seem he is incensed by people pronouncing it lan drover instead of land rover.

On the same theme, blatant product placement. Stopped watching "Bones" after it turned into a Prius advert.

Being sent an email to tell me to look at a plan on a notice board in the office I rarely get to. Why couldn't you just attach the plan and instructions to the email?

Those fecking poetic, rhyming fecking adverts. That one (on the radio) for the Ford transit REALLY pisses me off, especially as the twats at Ford are closing down production in the UK and sending it abroad. Arse - fecking - holes.

Ballotelli. The paint job on that car is grounds for euthanasia.

Today, a strange one.

An admin officer in the field persistently writing Mosside instead of Moss Side. It's two. Bloody. Words.

Imbecile.
