Tonight I was dazzled by a torch held by a normal pedestrian. I think that was a first, but I increasingly think running on most streets around here after dark is a pastime for the young, agile and bouncy. I am convinced that the streetlights, all new in the whole borough, are specified to cast a minute amount of light onto the road but none onto the pavement.

[Marky - the one thing I'd say re bike lights vs. car lights is that car lights are specifically set for dipped / full beam, and as long as drivers dip their headlights for cyclists - which I know too many don't - then they are not too dazzling. There's no such (and realistically can't be) regulation of bike lights, and some of the powerful bike lights now available, if badly adjusted, can dazzle]

[Because my bike is a German brand it lights are made to German lighting standards, so they have a cut-off to the top of the beam to stop you dazzling oncomers.]

People assuming that once your kids get to secondary school age they don't need support any more. The type of support is obviously different, but in many ways the pre-school and primary years are more straightforward (that doesn't mean they are easy by any stretch of the imagination)

“Sensible offers only”
Why don’t you just say how much you want for it? I don’t know what you think is sensible and I’m not going to research the second hand market to determine what is the going rate for a 3 year old widget with “some wear and tear“.
