Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I know it's just their editorial 'style' but it really hacks me off that the BBC newsreaders, weather people etc, when they're handing over to someone else always say e.g. "Sally, thank you" rather than "Thank you, Sally". They want to mix it up a bit as it's now beginning to sound (to me anyway), like an affectation.

Those who possibly wish to appear sophisticated but write Viola instead of Voilà!.

Or even "wallah!" which I've actually seen.

{going back to Jock's post a couple of weeks ago]

Someone has made a contribution to my fundraising page and I can't work out how to send them a thank you.

(on Just Giving, is there a setting that you can tick to not get emails or something? I know the person, but don't believe she's active on social media. So, thank you Cat, even though you probably can't see this)

You have to tick to say you’re happy to hear from the fundraiser. Easy to tick when trying to avoid all the other stuff from charities
