Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sounds as if an appeal might be worthwhile. I suppose you are meant to enter a box junction before the previous car is well clear of it.

If the Box rules were adhered to by the letter, traffic flow would would become incredibly erratic and stop/start. Anticipation is a major and necessary factor when driving, especially when using box junctions and roundabouts. It’s not always possible however to anticipate when a vehicle is going to stop and prevent another exiting a box.
I think that it might be worth while appealing against this Dio, if you have the stamina!

there's a box junction on Princess Road in Manchester and if motorists adhered to the rules - no one could leave work during rush hour (except the paramedics with blue lights on)

There’s a box junction in York where you cannot stick to the rules - from one direction you can’t see the exit until you’re half way in - Walmgate Bar hides it. Not relevant, but I’ve found myself wondering whether anyone had ever been called on it.

I agree that a penalty is harsh when you’re not blocking the junction.

Dodgy number plates (e.g. putting a 1 and 3 so close together that it looks like a B, strategic placement of black screw heads to turn 11 into H or O into Q etc.).

Floral street shrines. I'm sure they didn't exist when I was a young 'un.
