Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

[I should have pointed out that, personally, I don't like that women are 'expected' to take on their husband's surname. I find it an outdated method of demonstrating the taking 'ownership' of a person. I am often and incorrectly, referred to by my otherhalf's surname ~ we're not married; it's not someone elses fault that they don't know. But it does work me when people get a strop on that my psychic licence has expired and I don't actually automatically know the ins and outs of their life choices :-) ]

The American pronunciation of the word 'herb' as 'urb'. It's like they think they're being French or something. All the way through the Black Panther movie they talk about the 'heart-shaped urb'. FFS, look at the H at the front of that word. HERB HERB HERB. It's a Herb you tossers.

+1 McG.

I used to listen to a podcast by Ben Greenfield for his 'life hacks,' and he'd be "urbing" all over the place. To begin with, I wasn't sure if he had a speech impediment or something.

"Life hacks" - why not call them 'top-tips?'

On a similar note, Americans calling blue cheese 'bleu cheese', yet pronouncing it as 'blue'. And calling a fillet steak a 'filet'.

Jono.
for a minute I thought people were harking back to the 1970's and members of the West Indian community - black country based - referring to cannabis.
