Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

+1 for what Dvorak said.

That said I've a deal more time for William and Harry than I ever had for their inbred parents. Harry in particular seems to have a healthy contempt for "tradition and convention" and an even healthier contempt for the sycophantic right wing press that drives it.

If we have to have a monarchy then we could do a lot worse than skipping a generation and putting Wills or Harry on the throne. Certainly I wouldn't allow Charles within a Sandringham mile of it.

I wish the happy couple well - I just don't want to hear about every last detail OK?

[If the younger generation of royals rejected the privilege along with the responsibility, I might have a bit of time for them, but they seem happy to take the money, do their own thing, and whine a lot.]

The lives of the Royals are part of the irrelevant background noise of life that I try to tune out as much as possible. Same as the latest going ons for X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, Strictly Dancing, those wallies in Australia eating Koala bear gonads etc.

Reality: 'It's going to be a bit chillier this week, but just normal UK winter weather'

News: 'Arctic polar vortex blast killer weather bomb snowpocalypse of certain death for all to paralyse Britain for months, Britain colder than a normally very cold place that isn't very cold at the moment' etc.

Grrrrrr
