In Britain, the year 1752 was only 354 days long. The 3rd to the 13th of September were missed. Talk of 'Calendar riots' lacks evidence but the switch from the Old Style - Julian - to New Style - Gregorian calendar must have played havoc with birthdays, and accounts, to name but two. |

It is part of the reason our tax year starts on April 6th. It used to be March 25th. It shifted another day before we eventually aligned our calender properly with everyone else...

Recto/Verso is another way of saying double sided print. A-La, my client sent a hard copy of a signed form to the Luxembourg tax office from the US to be stamped but it was rejected because the form was not recto/verso. I also learned at the same time the the Lux tax authorities are a**seholes. |

We were quite quick about it. Russia didn't change until after the revolution and the church still counts on the old calendar there.

I had always thought that the original end of the tax year was the spring equinox (March 21). You learn something every day in here… |
