Unplug the appliance, pull it forward until you have room to tip it backwards a bit. Some water will come out, so have a towel handy. After that, when you plug it back in you will find that the fault has cleared. Of course, it’s probably a good idea to check the drain and the inlet filter at the same time, and to check the hose isn’t kinked or trapped, but it’s almost certainly tipping the machine that will solve the issue. This advice definitely applies to Bosch and Neff dishwashers, but might also be the same for other brands.
