I once did an orienteering event in Harrogate that gave the train times, or more specifically level crossing closing times for this level crossing: https://www.google.com/maps/@53.9964746,-1.4907771,3a,75y,173.8h,91.26t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1skryaEaqe2UFwi1kWllLuJg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DkryaEaqe2UFwi1kWllLuJg%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D83.02722%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656 It was a score event and you needed to know when the barriers would be closed in order to plan your route effectively. |

That there was an all-woman rock 'n' roll band called 'The Liverbirds' from Liverpool in the early 1960s. Playing mostly covers, they publicly clashed with John Lennon when he asserted that girls could not play guitars. ![]() ![]() en.wikipedia.org |

(When I was a child I worked out what was on the opposite side of the planet to us and proudly informed my dad that it was the Anti-podes (as I pronounced it then) Islands. He already knew this and explained that that was what antipodes meant. Obvious when you know.)

If the tap warning light on your dishwasher is flashing, the machine is not working, and turning it off and on again doesn’t clear the fault, this is what you do. Unplug the appliance, pull it forward until you have room to tip it backwards a bit. Some water will come out, so have a towel handy. After that, when you plug it back in you will find that the fault has cleared. Of course, it’s probably a good idea to check the drain and the inlet filter at the same time, and to check the hose isn’t kinked or trapped, but it’s almost certainly tipping the machine that will solve the issue. This advice definitely applies to Bosch and Neff dishwashers, but might also be the same for other brands. |
