Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

110 - sold to chap at work, funnily enough the one who sold me his wife's bike. Yes she knew :)

910XT - much used and loved, still going strong, now given to GC as he could charge on the move for his ultra. His 305 is dying slowly; the battery is now past it's best so no good for more than a half marathon. The 910 fell out with my HR monitor and gave some odd readings so gave up using one.

I now have a 735XT and am really happy with it - apart from a 2 yard swim the other week and the occasional refusal to talk to my phone. Much lighter on the wrist, it's become my day to day watch and only comes off for a short charge once a week.

edge 6x0 (610? was his, now sort of spare, display quite low tech. A pig to get routes on to and tricky to follow once you have. A pig to get to talk to the HR monitor.

edge 520 I think - disappointed with the mapping after using his 800 for a few rides. I don't really care about speed / power / segments but I do like to do a route before a ride and follow it! Cadence quite fun for a bit. Mine turns blasted segments back on again which override the route. Some segments include turnings. Grrr. Course following is as good on my new watch so this hasn't left the drawer for several months.

Horses for courses as they say - I think my training is more just get out there and do some rather than specific sessions and stats focussed (I wouldn't know my VO2 max, and don't mind if the HR monitoring is a bit approximate). So maybe I'm not a heavy user of these devices... and that's why I haven't killed one!

Nice post JCneeD.

It reminds me that somewhere in there I had a 4xx - 405, possibly? Touch screen thingy? I gave it to Sue when I got my 310xt and she wore it until it died - think she's now got a 610?

I really liked it - they had *terrible* reviews. I thought it was great.

Rumours persist of a 935xt launch in time for Kona. I may not be able to resist.

I've got the 405 with the touchy bezel thing. It hasn't died (although it hasn't been overly-taxed this past year ;-)). I like it.

Also got a 500 for the bike, which currently ticks as many boxes as I need it to.

As many of you already know, I'm a bit Auld Skool about swim watches (and the lack of need for them if you've got a decent plan and some self-discipline).

Fans of *that* photograph who are deranged enough to want to recreate it might be interested in Ely Tri Club's Two Piece Triathlon on 14th August.

Grep might even still have the speedos.

Chairman of (Springfield) Striders still has a 201 - he says it still does everything he needs, which may be true but aesthetically it makes a 310xt look positively appealing.

oo also, any wrist based hrm nonsense will always be a no no for me... so if its included on the new Tri watch, then Ill be buying many 920's to ensure an unending supply.

I have wrist HR on my Vivosmart HR. I can broadcast it to my 520.

In fairness to my 520 it takes it all at face value rather than laughing at it. Comically wrong.
