Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Thanks, Katie and CT!

I can put weight on it as long as I stand totally still - any movement through the foot (e.g. rolling the foot when walking, putting it on a slightly uneven surface) is quite painful.

I'll try and keep it elevated, though above the heart sounds quite challenging. :-o

At the moment, I hobble about in my flat (haven't been outside since Wed morning) by trying to put the foot down totally stright, and not move it when bearing weight at all, otherwise, it's rather painful.

Hmm... Cheers, CT. Ok if I leave it until the beginning of the week though, you think? (I'm about to go away for the weekend, and would have to cancel otherwise...)

Again without looking at it I cannot say, but you need an Ottawa assessment done and possibly an xray - If something is cracked in there, a weekend away may not be the best thing - Unless it leads to a great deal of reclining of course

Yes, reclining for sure. Lying on sofa, foot up on cushions, believe me it will help reduce swelling. Reducing swelling takes pressure off pain receptors.

I reckon a good physio would want you seen by GP before starting treatment, SA. As CT says, it just seems too much pain this far on from the injury.

Ottawa assessment?

And yes, I'm planning on putting my foot up as much as possible. Though it will be a 3 hour drive there...

The swelling is down almost completely, Katie - it's just still somewhat purple and painful.

SA - you need a doc to see it, examine it and maybe Xray it
