Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Sorry J2R, only done 70 miles in mine, so can't really help. FWIW, their foam feels firmer than Nike's, so I assume less susceptible to the pop being squished out of it!

Thanks, AJLB. I've heard the suggestion before that they should last longer than the Nikes. They look fine in terms of wear and tear, but it's the unseen possible damage which concerns me. I'll assume everything is OK for the moment, though. Shame, I was looking for another excuse :) .

Got a pic of Jake Wightman's WC winning spikes at the Bannister mile yesterday. They are essentially the MDX V3 so NB have been selling older (not as) super spikes to the general public for a while as they still aren't available in the UK.

Also these are the spikes for the first women's sub 5 mile. They were dipped in silver after so they didn't quite look like this when they were run in but massive contrast.

Should have also taken a pic of the spikes that Gudaf Tsegay wore when she ran the indoor WR 1500m in 2021. Just some bog standard Adidas spikes with a minimal cushioning. Not what you'd expect at that time but she's now a Nike athlete and in googling to see if I can find a pic, I found out she actually started running in Nikes while sponsored by Adidas later that year.

I feel like an idiot not going to that event, considering I live a 10-minute cycle ride away. Even though I broke my ankle in March I could also have comfortably have jogged the city centre mile event.

I think I assumed it was just going to be like a jumped up BMC event, and not what it actually turned out to be which turned out to be pretty good.

Always easy to take things for granted when on your door step. Funny thing for me is with the call room (and then the pace lights failure, watch failure and pacer running the 68 for 409 (so 67 400)) it wasn't the best racing experience for me and it was a pretty long day but it was a good event to spectate at and the Museum of World Athletics stuff was good.

Third time I've done the event and it was definitely a bigger event this time.

Everyone was trying to get pics with El Guerrouj it seems from Henderson's report. I did get one right at the end, lol.

Clipped on track today (proper almost went down type of clip) and ended losing a piece of Pebax from my shoe (think it must have been torn away by a spike pin so lucky it was just shoe). If I'd found the piece I'd have tried glueing it but without it we're looking at enforced retirement 😫

The missing chunk is probably stuck on someone's spikes still :-)

Yes that's what I thought when I couldn't find it after the session. The softness means it probably stayed on the spike that took it off and wasn't noticed.

Shame standard racing flats don't really exist anymore.

These look like they'll work for my purposes as a track workhorse but will add some weight I expect.

And to think all my PBs were set in flats/minimalists and vaporfly's didn't get me anywhere close.

6.4 oz for the Rival Waffle 6 apparently and I expect that's not in my size so potentially looking at going from 120g to about 200g in weight 😫
