Kerry - loo queues will dictate last pee time which pen are you ? there is a bit of a lag start-wise down through the pens, but maybe not as much as you'd expect. Make sure you have something warm to wear whilst hanging around that you don't mind ditching - you need to get your bag onto the lorry quite early on.
Once you've turned right after Tower Bridge, look out for the Sun bus - assuming it's there this year) and look to your left for the red and yellow balloons.
Good luck

Hello kerry (great name ) and welcome to the forums *waves*. Which start are you and which pen? Don't worry about being in the loo q even when the gun goes off as, unless you're an elite or in the first couple of pens, you will still have ages to wait to cross the line - and it is chip timed so until you cross that line, nothing matters apart from getting into that portaloo
Hi Cog - the earlier you can get to FP the better - to help with the set up. But if you can't, just get there when you can. Bring anything you need to keep you going through a long day - there is a garage very close by for toilets and supplies, but you will need a strong voice and hardy hands for all that clapping
I won't be there early doors due to coming from Boston and ALWAYS getting lost trying to find somewhere to park but I aim (sometimes succeeding) to get there before the elites go through.

Thanks for the advice guys, heading down to London now to collect my number, so I assume I will know what pen I'm in soon. It's really reassuring to know nothing should interfere with the portaloo plan βΊοΈ

Yes, the important thing is not to panic! I was doing my local marathon last Sunday and there was a half going on at the same time. A lady that I volunteered with at parkrun the previous day (and hadn't spoken with before then) was doing the half - it was her very first one - and she came bounding over when she spotted me before the start. She took great pride in telling me that she had poo'd I love runners - no vanity or such a thing as TMI

Hi team. This is my first marathon too. I have no particular requests apart from needing copious amounts of frenzied cheering π
