Finally got confirmation of an extention to my essay yesterday (sorry two looong days on the ward) However rather disappointingly I have had no response to the two emails I have sent this early this week asking about latest time to get feedback before the submission date (now 28th May) Anybody give me any advice? Is three weeks before the due date long enough for them to look at 20% and give me feedback so I have time to address some of the issues possibly identified? |

So hard to say as everyone's workload is different. I try v hard to fit in my students' feedback but I rarely have a lot. Can you extrapolate from the feedback date for the original submission date? |

We had a formative date then a summative date. We don't really get anything inbetween unless we request it. The formative was brought forward as people were concerned about the time left not being long enough...i.e. less than a month

What I meant was if you have a two week extension to the summative date then you cd assume a two week extension to the formative date

Yeah the formative was ages ago 26th March so I'm guessing it's unlikely to happen on that assumption. All my other essays tutos have said email me if you need any help and I've got responses but I do appreciate these are different times atm

For my students' dissertations, I'm saying two weeks, one week for me to read it and one week for them to make changes. I will of course read and comment on whatever they send me even if it's much closer to the deadline, but they know to expect less detail. I tend to draw the line at 2 days before the deadline as that doesn't really help anyone. You might do better at getting a response by proposing a date yourself, and asking is this enough time for you? |

I was going to use three weeks as a baseline. A week for her to read/respond and then two weeks for me to make some changes. A good idea to propose a date myself though thank you I will try that 😊

Thanks for the advice. Got a reply today in which she she has agreed to look at 20% if I get it to her before the date I proposed of three weeks before it being due 😊
