Spot on thanks Mac. How easy is Ladybower to follow and how far round is it?

I don't think I've ever tried, there's a fairly busy road on the East side. Get up some bloody hills!

I love Ladybower. Have run round that dozens of times.
Its 15 miles if you do a full loop.

Although technically what I used to run around is Howden and Upper Derwent Reservoirs.
If you park at Fairholmes, and then just head out along the road as far as the Slippery Stones, and then back along the other bank.

Thanks mate. I do like the idea of Macs second route twice which would give me some badly needed hills and around 2.5k ft of ascent. Lots of walking in there for me but a good day out. Ive got about six hours to kill so give me time to get up and back in the car and 5 hours to get round.

Yeah, that route looks good. Might have to save that one for later in the year!

It is the better of the two, and you get to look from Stanage Edge out to Lose hill (twice) which is officially* the best view in the world.
*depending on whose view you regard as official

Ladybower is indeed 15, road then good paths on both sides, people bike it easily enough, you could go up on Derwent edge but it'll be pretty cold/windy now, there will be absolutely nobody there mid-week.
