Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Can I run from the centre (Kelham island'ish) to Damflask without fear of getting squashed by a big lorry? I'm there for the day on the 5th Jan and have a few hours to kill whilst my son does his weird card game stuff and want to get a good run in.

Should say plan would be a couple of loops of the res and then run back.

Proper locals will know a nice route for part 1 better than me* but it'd be in three bits:

1 Town centre to Hillsborough;

2 Hillsborough to Loxley;

3 Loxley to Damflask (the Percy Pud route)

*I don't think there's any motorway or the like to traverse, but I'll check for a nicer sidestreet route once I'm on the PC...

Top man thanks Doogs. I don't mind just running the normal way to Hillsborough, I'm more bothered about safety than scenery. I know that stretch and know its good for footpaths.

This one a) avoids the big roads, mostly, and includes an optional return via the original Theatre of Dreams (OT nicked that from us! ;) )...

For added fun, go over Loxley Common and High Bradfield with a loop around Agden.

You could return over to Rivelin and up to Sandygate lane or something.

Boring roads to Malin Bridge and back from Crookes or Crosspool (depending on route) though

As Fozzy says, there's funner (i.e. hillier) alternatives via the likes of Rivelin Valley...
