Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Reassurance needed!! :)

Never Been Quicker
Hi everyone!

I've been training for a HM next Sunday but I haven't done any training for over a week because I've had a bad cough and cold. In my training I've ran a 10, 11, 12 and 13.1 slow runs and was planning an 8 mile for this morning but I'm still so blocked up (nose!! :)) im out of breath walking up the stairs do I didn't go out today. I'm was planning to have a really easy week this week, just a couple of 4 mile runs. Do u think I will have lost much fitness in these 2 weeks?

Thanks x

I've done 1 HM before, about a yr ago, and it was a disaster and I haven't raced since so i was hoping this one would be better but now I'm not so sure!!

NBQ, you've probably lost a smidge of fitness but not nearly as much as you would have thrown away trying to train through an illness like that.

You take care, run a little bit if you can this week, and get to the start line fit and healthy next week. Good luck.

No, you'll be fine. Srsly. Just take it easy this week and don't try to catch up with what you think you have missed.

Chin up, crack on.

Nope, you will be fine. :) Take it easy this week and get to the start line in one piece. You've done plenty of nice long runs, so I reckon you'll do pretty well. Good luck.

No, you'll be fine - much more important to make sure you're over the cold by next week.

Take it easy and make sure you are better for Sunday. You will have hardly lost any fitness at all!
