HOD,
My guesstimation would be around 5:30mm to 5:45mm pace and it was also slightly downhill.

HoD, what we are all trying to do Jhuff included, is attempting to perfect the technique. We learn the perceptions, practice the drills and run. Most of us will have some deviation from the standard, that is POSE. The skill is recognising the deviation and taking the correct actions to correct it. It is a journey, even just getting onto the journey is a step in the right direction. Don't be too concerned that you are not running perfect POSE, as long as you know what you want to do, you can build the perceptions and get a little bit further in your own journey.
I had a client yesterday who has been having patella tendon issues for a few months. She wasn't able to run without pain. Her running style was way off the POSE stanard, heavy heel strike, leaning from the waist. After an hour she was landing closer to her GCM, on relaxed bent knees, cadence was up and her alignment was straighter. It wasn't perfect and there is still a wee bit of work to do, but she had no knee pain. I think she said the first time in months. What I am trying to say (apart from blow my own trumpet ;)) is that she started her journey yesterday and already reaping the benefits although she still has a long way to go.

HOD,
No...you don't have to be perfect to have injury free and fast running but the closer you get to the POSE ideal the easier and safer the running shall be.

I will never be perfect at POSE but going to give it a go.
Tried running in my Nike Frees this afternoon, they didn't feel very comfortable to run in. Do you need to break them in or something?
