Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

For anyone not there today we are now no longer welcome at the Wetherspoons for post-race coffee. Apparently us parkrunners are "rude to staff", "rude to customers", "obnoxious", "move tables round", "loud" and "have lost the pub the majority of their regular Saturday customers". There were apparently complaints about us every week.

We claimed that it was rather unfair of them to just refuse to serve us without any prior warning, but they were having none of it.

I refuse to believe we behaved badly - we were giving the pub c.£200 in revenue every week. Glad to see they're not struggling in a recession ;-)

From next week onwards, we'll either go to Cafe Giardino or Muffin Break in Festival Place. We were welcomed with open arms there today :¬)

(and before you say it, Gobi never went to the bar to order coffee, so I refuse to see how we could have been accused of being loud....)
