Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

An interesting analysis . I have been amazed by Farah’s low cadence ever since watching the video of him setting the UK 3000m indoor record in Glasgow in 2009. His cadence was less than 180 for most of that race. Although he ran impressively in Glasgow, there were times when the forward and back movement of his head was quite noticeable. According to Jae Greunke’s analysis, Mo’s forward and back movement of his upper body relative to his hips allows him to achieve his relatively long stride, but it demands a lot of power. She implies that he could correct this by allowing more counter rotation while airborne. However she is careful to avoid saying that he should. Mo’s style powerful worked well for him in 2012 and 2013. It will be interesting to see whether it works as well over the full marathon in 2014.

Canute - Salazar is working on improving Farah's form for the marathon:

telegraph.co.uk

“We feel with Mo that as he moves towards the marathon we have to change his form. Whenever you change form, it’s obviously a little risky but already, within four weeks of working with Mo and giving him moreof a marathon form with not so much bobbing and going up and down, he’s already more efficient with his new form than he was with the old.”

D87... well observed but you need to correlate your analysis with the effect of the form on motion
