I have 14 miles at MP to do on Saturday, not sure where to do it though, Richmond Park where I normally do my long runs isn't conducive for even paced efforts. How far is Bushy Park, that's flat? Where do other South West Londoners do theirs? |

Bushy is flat - you can do alternating laps of the parkrun course (as long at your arent going to be there during the parkrun obviously). I find this part of the Thames path good for long runs so presume it would be similar for MP: thames-path.org.uk Or there is a bit further away: walkthiswey.co.uk Which is very quiet! There's an alright pub at the lock too |

Thanks Curly Any idea how far each lap is in BP at all? Might be lots of laps..but I'm doing Boddington marathon, 13 or 14 laps..so I need the training!

Not done the full park but the parkrun bit is 5k - check out the course map on their site for more details. Am sure others have done a full lap though |

Nice route! The bit around Hampton Court entrace does get a bit busy so just watch that but otherwise it should be a good un.

MPH we trained round Bushy for marathons, the park is 8 miles from the Peasantry carpark down to the gate by HCP then turned right and followed the permiter all the way round. We also would add on trips down the river towards walton bridge and back (going through HCP), so a run from the Peasantry to walton bridge was 10 miles plus the 8 of the park made for a nice long run with the last bit being in the park, easy to get back to the car if necessary in an emergency. |

Use the river! The stretch from Richmond to Hammersmith is perfect although a tad uneven of surface in places |

...and... if you want laps, the lap around Kew Gardens and Old Deer Park is a traffic-free 4.5 miles. |
