Not gory crime and definitely not cosy Think Die Hard but without John McClane or Hans Gruber. Or Al the cop. A birthday party is being held 20 floors up in a hotel there is a number of cops and a state prosecuter and story is seen from her point of view. A group of men come in and hijack the party the target being the hotel owner A good section goes back to the mid 80s up to near the present day so we understand the reason for all this There are other books in the series I will definitely read more will have to start at the beginning An easy read

Gives me ideas what to read. I bought Kairos by Jenny Erpenbeck translated by Michael Hofmann I chose this as author is German and I've read 2 books recently by German authors and both pretty good
