Night-owl
Finished tonight. This was translated by Steven T Murray a name I recognise now. But I see he died in 2018. Book was so good published in English in 2016. There don't seem to be any more books written since least not translated into English There's a sniper on the loose killing people is it a random thing or is there a connection between the victims. And why. Kept me on edge of my seat and I had to stop reading to do other things like sleep eat work |

Social media is raving about Simone Buchholz, German author a new book out "The Kitchen" I've not read her but got this Translated by Rachel Ward. What struct me was the dedication For Alan Rickman never seen that before a dedication of someone who was also famous According to Google its related to his character from Die Hard yes there's a hostage situation. It's going into my to be read soon pile need to finish a couple of books first 😂 |

Right I've finished it earlier today I loved it I enjoyed the writing style. Not gory crime and definitely not cosy Think Die Hard but without John McClane or Hans Gruber. Or Al the cop. A birthday party is being held 20 floors up in a hotel there is a number of cops and a state prosecuter and story is seen from her point of view. A group of men come in and hijack the party the target being the hotel owner A good section goes back to the mid 80s up to near the present day so we understand the reason for all this There are other books in the series I will definitely read more will have to start at the beginning An easy read |

The short list for the international booker has been released thebookerprizes.com I do get excited by this. Gives me ideas what to read. I bought Kairos by Jenny Erpenbeck translated by Michael Hofmann I chose this as author is German and I've read 2 books recently by German authors and both pretty good |
