Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

If you had to appear on a reality show which one would it be?

Surely a reality show is something where an activity that people would do in real life in a naturalistic setting is organized into a structured format for a game or contest, and the participants live in it for a while? If so, it would have to be some kind of farming or smithing show for me.

I quite fancied the show (was it Castaway?) - the one that launched Ben Fogle's career.

The idea of it anyway - not sure the reality would suit..

I'm not sure how well known this is, Mushroom, but the first one of this kind to make it to TV was Expedition Robinson on Swedish TV in the mid 90s. I used to follow it avidly :) en.m.wikipedia.org

A reality show but not a game, does anyone remember a show from the (?) end of the 1970s about a group of people living for a year as if in the stone age? Kind of like Fogle's programme but with fewer clothes.

I seem to recall this being done more recently as well- (late '90s perhaps ?)
My only real memory of it was that at one point the HSE came onto the site due to the living conditions.

I found the anniversary programme about Castaway quite enlightening - esp how the cast saw that Ben was being 'bigged up' by the film crew so that a star would emerge

Got something to say?
