Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Exciting, GM :)

I wish I had a special cheese stomach so that I could eat all the cheeses plus all the other things I like to eat.

We were rather spoilt for choice. The Ashcombe has a thin layer of ash in the middle. I’ve not come across that before.

I've had Petite Grey, soft cheese with ash in the edible rind, but not actually in the cheese itself.

I’ve had soft French ewe’s cheese with ash on the surface. Lovely stuff. No idea what it was called though.

On the left is Rollright. It is soft - like ripe Camembert - and very mild
Centre is Moreton. The grey rind tastes like “mushrooms in a damp cellar”. Firmer than the Rollright, it bends, a bit like Jarlsberg
On the right is Ashcombe - mild, but with a nutty taste. It is also a bendy cheese.

Our favourite was the Moreton, but all were really good and we’ll buy them again.

They all sound delicious. Doesn’t the ash taste of …ash?

Back for 2023!! You know what to do :)

Inspired by the Christmas Cheese thread and the 50 Fruit and Veg in 2022 thread, how many different types of cheese can you eat in 2022?

I've had a rummage in the fridge and so far I have consumed -

(Valley Spire) Medium Cheddar
(Tesco) Red Leicester
(Tesco) Shropshire Blue
(Shepherds Purse) Harrogate Blue
(Tesco) Neufchatel
(Aldi) Spicy Cheddar
(Aldi) Wensleydale with cranberries
(Milbona) Cream cheese

I make that 8 varieties so far!

I have some more in the fridge to go...
