South Shields' Metro is quiet enough on the morning of the race if you're leaving plenty of time, but you'll need to find a decent parking space. That's the best way round to do things, as the queues for the bus are visible from space.

Fluzao - avoid the pasta party on Saturday, Newcastle wil be heaving as it also Junior Great North Run day. But if you want to go, I think it opens at 9am till 6pm. You should note that the Metro Arena is a good 10-15 min walk from Newcastle Central Station, + despite its name there is no Metro Station there. It is named after one of the area's local Radio Stations.

So I decided to pick up the little one from Nursery on the Friday and go have a look around!!! She likes the metro so should be fun. I think it's better at the arena. Easier for me to get to from Sunderland than the Quayside. I can't believe there is under 4 weeks to go. Gulp.
