I was annoyed about not getting Oasis tickets in the scramble last year, but then promptly got over it and forgot about it.
Until the tour kicked off last week and I suddenly had a severe bout of envy.
I was at one of the Knebworth gigs in 1997(?), the only time I have seen Oasis live. I have seen Noel and his high flying birds a couple of times. It's good, but it's not the same...

Saw them loads back in the day, including at Maine Road. They *were* great.

Never got the Oasis hype - then or now. Glad they are playing at Heaton Park rather than the Etihad/Co-op Arena, not sure the car park booking money would cover the costs of moronic drunken fans toileting on our drive or in our hedge!
Sure the residency is bringing a boost to many pub's coffers though which can't be a bad thing.

Seen Oasis 3 times..
95 - Earl's Court 2000 - Wembley 2005 - MK Bowl
The EC gig was amazing, just read it was Alan Mcgee's favourite Oasis gig too. Only about 15-20k there, but quite easy to get a few rows from the front. Very mixed gender crowd too, felt like a indie band gig
Wembley was just a great day out
MK was the opposite of Earl's Court - 75% blokes, like an England football match.
Never bothered trying to get tickets for the reunion - very expensive and worried about how Liam's voice would hold up. Seems to be ok for now, although he has that weird 'grabby' style now, just doesn't sound the same.

His voice has actually surprised me from the bits I've seen. He sounds better to me than he has done for a very long time. Wife just sent me a picture, they have a great spot in front standing.

Perhaps he has been less aggressive singing wise. Like in the old demo singles

Met Noel when he was a roadie with the Inspiral Carpets (who are still going strong!) at a gig at my uni - he sold me the t-shirt which I wore to my last Inspirals gig in May. Still disappointed didn't get a ticket, although less so after seeing the Stereophonics last weekend (supported by the Blossoms and Finn Forster, who I thought was particularly good) and Travis (supported by The Royston Club) this weekend

My wife said it was brilliant and not at all the drunken football fan crowd she was expecting. I know they divide opinion but I've yet to hear from anyone that's been who has been even mildly critical of them.

Oasis - zzzzzzz- back in the day I had some of the early singles, gleefully shared them with mates and thought the first two albums contained some great singalong songs.
But they never had anything to say did they? All the fights and slagging each other off was a bit Punch and Judy and was amusing at first but quickly tiresome. They had an authentic working class voice that has lasted despite all the silly champagne lifestyle. I came to the view that Pulp better represented their era and class, and had more to say about relationships and life.
Whilst I never wanted tickets I did re-listen to some of the early stuff and felt Liam's voice was too pantomime most of the time, and I had made the right decision. BTW playing Wonderwall is grounds for summary execution. Plus we've all been forced to over hear Jo Whiley banging on about them again as if she flippin invented he whole thing. C-on a bike! Plus plus most boring band tshirts ever. Plus plus plus Bucket hats!

In real news, still on a jolly high after bouncing around to Cheekface at Islington Assembly Hall last night. Everyone, bar one dude near me, were grinning like idiots all night.
