can you fix the front wheels on it? You might find it's fine on smooth surfaces, but wheels go everywhich way when you hit a bump. It probably isn't "recommended" for running with, but you could always see how you get on with it. <disclaimer> don't sue me if it all goes pear shaped!

Best thing LF is to try it and see what you think - I initially tried with my non-running pram/buggy and tbh, it was ok, but didn't feel especially stable especially at pace and when going on anything but smooth tarmac - our canal path for example is fine grit and the 'proper' Jane jogging buggy I have is great along there, but my non-running one struggled and I got punctures in it too!
I am delighted to report a 10k PB today, 46:09, 34 secs off my previous which was set when I was marathon training a few years ago! Never thought I would be capable of that until later this year at the earliest, it was one of my toughest PBs to beat! Perhaps there is something to be said for having improved stamina / pain thresholds etc. after childbirth!!

Well done Clare!
I'm now about to go out for my first run in I don't know how long. Hopefully my pelvic floor will be OK if I shuffle along!
Don't running buggies have full suspension and 5 point harnesses? In a carrycot I would be concerned about my little one bouncing around too much.......

Yes, they do have the suspension and harness (though I think my 'normal' one has a 5 pt harness too), the suspension makes a big difference!

I now have an exercise bike. £35 quid, and it is actually possible to get a really good workout on it. Now I am trying to decide whether to freeze my gym membership for the next 3 months, or attempt to leave lovely baby Julien in the creche when he is 6 weeks, at the end of April, and make the most of it! Is 6 weeks too young to leave a baby in a creche. It would be fine if he's asleep, but I have no idea what the creche people would do with him if he woke up and started fussing. What do you mums think?!

I left Snidger in the gym creche from 6 weeks old. He was exclusively breastfed so I told the staff where I was and that if he needed feeding they were to come and get me. They only came and got me once. It was fine.
Top tips though to get the most out of your session get changed first/ or go in your gym stuff so that you can jsut drop baby off and go straight to the gym. I also didn't do any of the stretches/situps etc in the gym and waited until I got home so that the hour I had was just pure workout.

Run was hard but lifted my mood considerably. Have decided to ignore the stress inc and try and do pelvic floor exercises whilst I run to see if that will improve things over time.
LF - can you put Julien in his car seat and put him next to the treadmill/cross trainer etc that you are using? Would the gym let you do that? I take India (7 weeks old) to a post natal class I am doing and she is no trouble sat in her car seat whilst I do the class.

My gym would never let me do that, I'm afraid, Lills. I wish! He did stay quiet in his car seat today while I did 16 minutes on the exercise bike at home, though. I actually did 20 minutes. I let him cry for the last 4. Mean mummy!
Well, I might talk to the people who run the creche and see if they are used to dealing with quite young babies.

Cooeee. Glad to see LF has asked all the questions I wanted to about the pram!
I did 2M last Sunday as a tentative step into running again and have been waiting for something terrible to happen since. Everything has been fine though. If the wee fella settles after this feed I think I'll pop my togs on and go out for a joglet. Infact I'll pop the GPS onto charge now.
I'm glad you are getting out to run Lills and that you felt good for it.
I got a pilates for mums DVD but it's not that great as it takes you back to first principles and I've been doing pilates for a few years. Totally recommend it for a novice but I knew what it's told me so far. My pilates teacher is letting me drop into the last few classes of the beginners plus class to see how I feel before I start a full block at intermediate. God knows how I'll get on, there are some exercises I am good at and ones that I am truly feeble. The question is really, will Mr KP get home in time from work for me to go?
