Just a quick one folks, my mate is planning on getting a Garmin on a budget and he's looked at the forerunner 10 and thinks it would do but wants to make sure it has the ability to show average pace. Anybody had experience with one who can tell me if it does as the spec online isn't specific enough and I only have a 310xt. TIA. G |

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. My wife has just upgraded from it to the FR25. When it's got some charge in I'll check to make sure. I'll also check the FR25 as that's their latest entry level watch.

Ok I've checked. the FR10 just shows 'pace' which I believe is current pace. On the FR25 you can set pace, average pace (for the whole run) and lap pace, Ie it's much more flexible. There is also the FR15 which is newer than the FR10 and might have more pace options but as I don't own one I can't check.

Just looking at the options on my FR10. There is pace, lap pace and average pace. It also has options for speed, lap speed and average speed. I bought it for the same reason and it does the job for me. Batteries will need recharging frequently, more so before a long run or marathon. The FR10 is one of the watches that is reviewed by Fetchies under the Shop heading above. So it might be worth a look to see what others think about it. |

Phil Are you sure that's an FR10? Does it do step count? CW |

No, step count isn't available on the FR10.

Phil I'm confused then. The FR10 I checked definitely didn't do lap pace, I wonder if there are difference versions?

Aha, DC Rainmaker has the answer Also, Pace/Speed can be displayed in one of the following formats (applies to all pace displays above, you don’t get to mix and match): – Pace – Lap Pace – Avgerage Pace – Speed – Lap Speed – Average Speed (Note: Updated Sept 10th, 2013 with Average Pace additions) So above, you’d choose one line which then puts the two data metrics on a single page. And then choose another line for your second page. Two pages total. No more, no less. |
