Boing. Go and have a look at garminchristmas.co.uk . Giving away Garmin gear every day, and some of the days what is available is a discount code of 30% to the first 10,000 people who check it. Which is a 620 with the shiny new HRM for £251.

Mine arrived from the USA yesterday, used it at Parkrun this morning, very simple to use although I have to confess that I read instruction manuals - the running dynamics stuff is interesting when you read the Google Scholar stuff on it, the most surprising figure is the average stride length given my 34" inside leg connect.garmin.com I particularly like the two minute Heart Rate Recovery figure staying on the screen for an extended period of time unlike the 610, pity that they don't write it to Connect though as I find it very useful in terms of how well I am running although in theory all it is telling you is how healthy your heart is. |

I think the way that HR is recorded would be really useful on GC (and FE and any other training logging sites) if it gave you 1 min before and 2 mins after etc. to see your base HR, and then how quickly it recovers, but with the middle bit being the session time, distance and pace. Just a thunk. Avg stride length would be interesting to see for different run types (speed vs easy etc.) :-)G

Interestingly the cradle-charger-USB connector has died. Apparently it is 'a thing' that they are looking into. I have ordered a spare from the Amazon. Unless of course it's the watch that is bodged... |

I've got fingers crossed I'm going to find a 620 on the morning of 25/12 although sensing my search may not bear fruit ![]() Is it sad that the geek in me is simply attracted by all the new stats available? |

as i last was using a 110 this one feels far lighter and smaller and much more watch like due to not being one moulded lump ![]() currently no mobile app for android support was looking forward to using Bluetooth rather than PC ![]() would be far happier having a full manual rather than 20 copies of quick start in different languages!!! OK will have to see if it actually works as more than a watch now ![]() |

I've yet to get the heart rate strap working on mine (admit I haven't tried very often). Wetting it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?
