I like that option.

Agreed that we would benefit from a start 'window' - seems a sensible compromise.
At some point, we'll also need to agree the rules for finishing. For example, are we saying 'as many laps (of your chosen distance) in 24 hours' or are we really wanting a 'last person standing' winner and opening up the potential for two or more people to keep doing a mile every hour until one of them finally drops three days later?

The poll has been useful for establishing a month (and it's looking like we'll go with June).
I'll set up another one asking how many hours people think they might do.

Right, here's a poll asking for your estimates on how long you'll keep going for:
Please only tick the last option if you imagine you're going to keep going beyond 36 hours. The goal is to figure out how long we're likely to need organisational wherewithal.

I like the idea of a mass start but would prefer it to be earlier? I'd hope to have at least 5 laps in by midday! If I'm doing it as a solo female, I'd rather start early to take advantage of as much daylight hours as possible, rather than start at midday and go on into the night. Having said that I did start the Virtual West Highland Way Race at midnight but I dragged OH out with for that one

I'd prefer to start in the morning...to get runs in when it's cooler. That's assuming that it's going to be el scorchio later in the day. Who knows what weather next summer will throw at us?

The flexibility is there for you all to start early.

I'd be looking at 100 miles as my target, going beyond 24 hours isn't very compatible with normal life. But doing so with a like minded group at the same time would be more fun.
Is there an argument to make the '2 Mile' option actually 50 miles in 24 hours to match with the main challenge?

That'd be 2.0833, or an extra 134 metres on each lap, which doesn't sound too bad. Of course, if I left it at 2 miles, there'd be nothing to stop you doing the extra distance each time.
