Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I might need to have one in my SI joint :( got a second MRI scan booked for Thursday so depends on the results.

I've been reading a bit on them and folks saying it wears off after a few months and they need another, well that's not much good as I was hoping it would just fix me.

As I understand it I have this injection due to inflammation, the injection reduces the inflammation and the pain is gone so I can run again. I understand that if I still run in the same way there is every chance this will come back just like any injury if you don't fix the cause of it. But I have been working on my glutes/core as they have been identified as a weakness so is it possible that the injection will reduce the inflammation and then the inflammation might be gone of its own accord once the drugs have worn off?

Hi Hellen,
I had a corisone injection into my shoulder and it gave it a chance to heal and I've never needed another injection. (It was excruciating beforehand and I had limited movement) Hopefully you'll have the same outcome!

I've had cortisone injections in both knees, a hip and an elbow. One of the knee jabs didn't work but the other did, that was in 2014, not needed one since. Elbow one was partially successful. Hip jabs for bursitis in December has been fully successful.

Thanks for the encouraging comments :)

I'm slightly embarrassed about having it in my arse :(
Will it hurt to sit down after?

Shouldn't hurt to sit down and I've been fine to go back to usual after each jab.

Got something to say?
