Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Hello :-)

Have been using a pair of Nike Pro compression shorts for longer runs for a while now. Seems to help with the chafing issue and also things feel a bit less wobbly :-O

They do seem a touch expensive though. So, for arguements sake, say I am a complete cheapskate and don't want to spend another £20 to get a new pair shipped to me (that's two 10k races I could book instead). Are there alternatives out there that do the job for a fraction of the cost? The internet is indicating no, apart from Under Armour which are just as pricey.

I'm not sure. I'm googling like a madman but it keeps giving me stores in Illinois which, given I'm near Woking, is not that helpful :-)

Just keeps everythign snug and warm Frobester. And I get chafing (even with body glide) wearing other stuff but these Nike Pro thingies seem to elimiate the issue. Which makes runs a damn site more pleasureable.

Will search fior a Lidl.

I think Red Venom do compression shorts at reasonable prices.

They seem the same price as Nike. Though maybe there is another place I can get them from rather than direct.

I favour the lycra shorts underneath more normal shorts as opposed to full on compression ones. Would they suffice? There are plenty of choices available for those. Sweatshop or Sportshoes have been my main suppliers. Currently I'm using some RonHill shorts that have 2 layers - a snug lycra inner with a regular outer.
