Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I always use my watch time as my official time, unless its a low key event & I know its not going to be more than a couple of seconds before I cross the start line.

I noticed the clock just moving onto 1:42 as I crossed the line but my official time is 1:42:18. I agree for the cost chip timing would be good.

I've gone by my Garmin time, measured line to line. My official time was over 3 mins out. Unfortunately I was near the back of the line at the start, and due to the sheer volume of people had to walk a fair way before I actually crossed the start line.

I'll know better next year and start nearer the front.....that is unless they bring chip timing in! Enjoyed the race though and got a PB anyway with 'both' times, so I'm happy :)

That's a terrific PB Pix - well done! That time is almost exactly what I did at Wilmslow last year (and is still my half mara PB) - nice to see you and Tracy today :-)

I didn't do this, but if anyone saw a scrawny, bearded 64 year old in a Sunderland football shirt - that was my Dad, official time 1:52:51 which is a 3 minute PB for him if it is accurate, might be even better if official times are a bit wonky :-)

Kinky - I overtook your dad at about the 3 mile mark and spoke to him at the end. I recognised him from the Sale 5 at Xmas. I think his watch time was about 1:49, so he was very pleased.

Good running everyone and glad you enjoyed it. The supporters out on the course kept me going through the toughest run I've had in a long time. My legs just seemed like rocks and I struggled to get round at all - but just back from skiing hols so I guess that is what did the damage.

Wilmslow's Ron Reed became the first *V80* to finish the event - what an effort!
