I'll be refreshed after a week in Lanzarote early Oct so let's go for a second under PB, and not going off like a clown at the start.. Just shaking off a cold with 3 days to go but hopefully by Sunday the rest will have done me good.
A PB ! blimey didn't expect that after a week on the lemsips. Conditions very good this morning and ran nice and steadily. Felt like stopping a few times -pretty normal for a 10K. Out of gas at the end.
Chris Worthers
Thanks everyone for the 5000 credits that were bet - was a bit bemused by it all at first but it really helped me focus. After telling myself not to set off too fast, I set off too fast. Cue a steady stream of overtakers from 3k onwards. I was well ahead of my target pace so just had to hang on in there. If I had known about the free bananas at the end I might have run a bit quicker.
Iron Bry!
Made the age old mistake of starting too fast! Although I pretty much hit my predicted time it wasn't a comfortable run. Three 4.10 kilometres at the start took it out of me and I paid for it during the second half of the race. Fourth fastest kilometre was my last one (4.27) where I picked up the pace and gave it everything to avoid being overtaken near the line! I'll know better for next time!

Really enjoyed the event though - goody bag was great and the weather was absolutely perfect. Will be back again - but with a better race plan!

Had set out to get under 50 minutes and hit it on the nail - just needed an extra spurt at the end. Pleased with the result though as a had a congested chest and found it hard to get my breathing settled - there always next time!!
