About Me
A slow plodder, but I'm getting better.....

That statement will remain there to remind me how far I have come. I've actually got quite a lot better, lots of PBs over the last couple of years, and more to come. How? Train hard but smarter.

I just love running. Simple as that :-) I'm obsessed to a degree but not to the point where I would put my life on hold, miss out on other things for a run or get injured in the name of stupidity.

At the beginning of 2008 I was 18st but I had still run races up to half marathon at this weight. By Dec 2008 I'd lost quite a lot of lard, but until early 2009 I'd never run more than 14 miles as a long run. Don't let anyone else's attitude get you down or put you off.

First Marathon was FLM in 2009, I loved it. Took 25 mins off that in my 2nd one in the September, and threw in an Ultra. In 2010 I ran VLM and got some PBs over shorter distances, also tried my first Triathlon which I won! 2011 saw the Goofy Challenge (39.3 miles in 2 days) completed, and the Connemara Ultra (39.3 miles in one go) I loved it and had a decent run on those hills for little old me.

I managed to complete 4 Marathons in 4 days at the end of Aug / start of Sept 2012 and a 100KM race in Sweden in Aug 2013, and had the best time ever. What's next? Watch this space!
