Steve72 Lovely race. First mile uphill and from then on fast but deceptive. Just about all the race felt downhill yet it was a loop that finished with a downhill mile on the same section we started on, so it can't have been all downhill! Lost satellite signal so wasn't able to stick to a strict pace as planned, ran with how I felt instead. After 5 miles overtook a few runners then from mile 8 caught a group of 4 and hung on behind them. That group became 3 and then in the last mile I pulled to the front, the other two came with me and went past again so I did a surge and a sprint to the finish to leave just behind me. Official time was 1hr23m00s but nobody heard the gun to start the race and one of the organisers told us the clock was running 16 seconds before we all started!
