Never done the tourist thing - used to treat Cambridge as a ‘shopping town’ rather than a tourist attraction. I was delighted. Particularly with Pembroke College Chapel which felt comfortable, and the Catholic Church which felt very thin (and Sue refused to go in - she’s extremely mid-low CofE if you follow.

I'll take you on a tour of the churches one day. Little St. Mary’s is a delight.

We couldn't get into one that I wanted to see - St Mary the Great (or whatever it is called) I think. 'Little St Mary' amused me as a name since I'm familiar with the two St Bartholomews out at the old Smithfield - 'the Great' and 'the Less' which seems altogether more dignified. Great St Barts (as it is known) is one of my favourites. Bigger than Chelmsford Cathedral too, which isn't unusual, but still.
